Located at 25 Brook St (close to Oxford St Underground station) Handel House must-see attractionm> was the home to the famous baroque composer from 1723 until his death in 1759. During his residence at this attractive Georgian town house in the heart of London’s West End, Handel composed such seminal works as the Messiah, Zadok The Priest, and Fireworks Music.
One of the many specialist London museums, Handel House Museum celebrates Handel’s life and works, as well his contemporaries in what many consider the golden age of classical music. The beautifully restored interiors give a sense of what life must have been like for this hugely influential composer at the peak of his power.
On a different musical theme, the adjoining house to the Handel House Museum at 23 Brook St was home to another musical genius, Jimi Hendrix who lived at the house in the late 60s. Be sure not to miss these two historic London attractions.
