London Pass holders can enjoy free entry to HMS Belfast – a saving of nearly £10 for the normal adult entry price and just one of many London attractions and museums where pass holders can enjoy substantial discounts.

Launched in 1938, HMS Belfast was one of the most powerful light cruisers ever built – and is now the only surviving vessel of her type to have seen active service during the Second World War. HMS Belfast and HMS Edingburgh played an important role in the Second World War when imposing a naval blockade on Germany.
In 1939 HMS Belfast was seriously damaged by a magnetic mine by the German submarine, which broke the keel and important parts of the machinery. HMS Belfast was brought to Devonport and repairs of the severe damage took nearly three years.

That wasn’t enough to keep HMS Belfast down; the ship continued to serve in active military engagements until 1952, including participation in the destruction of the battle cruiser Scharnhorst (during WW2), the Normandy Landings and the Korean War. She remained in service until 1965. In 1971, on Trafalgar Day, HMS Belfast was brought to London to become a museum and since then the ship is one of the must-see attractions for visitors who are interested in history during the Second World War!

A unique part of naval history, HMS Belfast has been a popular London Thames attraction ever since. Today London visitors can explore her nine decks including the massive boiler and engine rooms, operate the anti-aircraft guns and experience what life was like for those on board.

Moored on the River Thames, close to the London Bridge tube station, HMS Belfast is another military history attraction, the Britain At War Experience – once again, London Pass holders can get in absolutely free. Other nearby London attractions offering free tickets to pass holders includes Southwark Cathedral and the Tower Of London.
